The Martin Luther King, Jr. service is a national initiative to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. legacy. Monday January 21, 2019 will take place in the Winbourne Ave. area, hosted by the Walls Project. We are encouraging our youth in middle school and beyond to participate in this day of giving back to the community. They will be involved by assisting professionals in painting blighted buildings, murals and providing sandwiches to the workers. They will be supervised, and transportation will be provided. Last year this successful project covered our Scotlandville District. Parents will be contacted about this project. For more information, please contact Sis. Eileen Taylor, Dianne Pullen or Albertha Warren.
Come One! Come All!! The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, in conjunction with our Youth Ministry, will once again host an "Etiquette 101 Class" for our Youth Ministry students and our Outreach students. Etiquette is a code of polite conduct. Many people think etiquette is only about table manners in fancy restaurants, but quite simply, it is expected behavior that shows respect, meant to make everyone feel comfortable. Our first class will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The second class will be held on February 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., same location, where the students will practice what was learned. All children, youth and parents are invited and encouraged to participate in this wonderful event. For more information, please contact Bro. Alonzo Johnson, Sis. Audimishel Offord, and Sis. Dianne Pullen. Thank you and we look forward to seeing each of you.
