General Weekly Announcements -

Our Mission Society has place an Intercessory Prayer Basket in the foyer of the Church.  Members are encouraged to write out their concerns on the cards provided and place them in the basket.  Then, those concerns will be brought to the alter during each worship experience.  They will also be lifted up in prayer by our Prayer Warriors.  Remember, there is power in prayer!

The Carmelite Newsletter is being revived!  Members and Ministry representatives who have articles for the initial newsletter are asked to submit them today.  Those interested in working on The Carmelite should contact Sis. Beulah Clark, Carolyn Breaux or Janifer Peters.

Our Girl Scout Ministry is recruiting new leaders.  If you are interested in working with girls, aged 5 - 17, please contact Sis.  Carolyn Breaux, Jacqueline Talton or Linda Harris.  Training is offered to all volunteers.

Members are asked to support the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.  Please donate canned goods or non-perishable food items.  The food bins are located in our foyer and the Fellowship Hall.

Persons interested and committed to reviving the Mid-Day Bible Study at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays should contact the Church Office (225.775.7372) and provide your name and contact information to the Church Clerk.  You will receive a follow up call informing you of the date that the classes will resume.  You may also give your name to Sis. Geraldine Roberts or Julie Wessinger of the Deaconess Ministry, Deacon Vernon Jordan or Bro. Oliver Jack of the Usher Ministry.  We look forward to an extraordinary response and a renewed interest int he study of God's Word.

New Members Training is offered during the Sunday School hour, to help develop a better understanding of the purpose of the Church and the role we are to play.  For more information contact Deacon Aolar Wilson.

Interfaith Caregivers, a ministry of the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, is seeking volunteers who may be able to assist the elderly once or twice each month.  If you would like to volunteer, pleas contact Sis. Vivian Walker

Support the Saturday Feeding Ministry each week at 11:30 a.m.  For more information contact Deacon Charles West or Deacon Edna G. Crockett. 

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, we offer free tutoring services in all subjects for young people in Grades K - 8.  Tutoring begins at 3:30 p.m.   Participants also receive a snack at the end of the tutoring session.  If you or someone you know is in need of these services, please contact Sis. Brenda Spruel 

Text copies of The Pastor's Thoughts on the Sunday School Lesson, Family Worship Hour Bible Study and last Sunday's sermons are available in the Education Building.  Also, the Pastor prepares a "Daily Devotion", which is distributed via email to those members who desire to receive one.  If you wish to be a recipient, contact him at Pastor Fred Jeff Smith
